Home Services, Franchise Opportunity

What we do

Local Treasures is a one stop shop for home services.

We match customers who need jobs doing in and around their homes with a skilled, local workforce who we call Treasures. Our Treasures provide gardening, cleaning, handyman, companionship and dog walking services.

Our jobs lend themselves to regular bookings and some of our clients have been with us for many years, which means we are looking for franchisees who are happy to build ongoing relationships with customers.

Home services are sought after by almost every householder in the UK which means we have a constant stream of varied work and this variety protects us from seasonal variations and economic downturns.

We have an award winning, easy to use fully automated matching platform which matches customer requests with the most appropriate local, skilled Treasure. This means our franchisees spend less time on the admin and more on growing their business.

We are looking for enthusiastic, outgoing and positive franchisees to run Local Treasures in their franchise area. You can choose to work as a gardener, handyman, cleaner, dog walker or companion in the first few years, whichever your preference. This helps build your own income and it also helps you to get to know how every aspect of the business works.

Local Treasures

Sarah Heyworth – Founder

Local Treasures was set up in 2013 by Sarah Heyworth when she moved out of London to Petersfield in Hampshire. She had a husband, two young children, a dog, a cat, a new house and garden (both of which needed a lot of work). Sarah was working in a busy marketing agency and had very little spare time. (Sound familiar?)

It became clear that Sarah’s parents, who could have helped (her Dad is a great gardener, and her Mum is a brilliant cook) lived too far away, so she began to look for help in their new town.

After contacting countless individual cleaners, gardeners, handymen, plumbers, dog walkers etc, most of whom weren’t vetted or insured and most of whom didn’t call her back, Sarah realised there was a gap in the market.

This is when the idea for Local Treasures was born.

Sarah found that the people with most experience and who were always on time, polite and helpful, were generally older workers.

Local Treasures therefore utilises the skills and experience of mainly older workers to help customers with home chores and in so doing, provides much needed work for an older workforce who sometime struggle with finding work in later life.

“We call our workers “Treasures” and it is at the heart of Local Treasures that we value our Treasures as much as we do our customers.
